“I have read many definitions of what is a conservationist…the best one is written not with a pen, but an axe.” Aldo Leopold

That quote by Aldo Leopold best summarizes the spirit and objectives of the Wisconsin Professional Loggers Association (WPLA). Formed in 2000, WPLA works with management agencies, woodland owners and the forest industry to promote and practice sustainable forest management. Members follow a strict code of conduct and attend annual continuing education programs to ensure they bring the most up-to-date knowledge and methods to the woods each day. WPLA also serves its membership by providing a unified voice on forestry issues, acting as a vehicle for progressive industry change.
